Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome to Year 1! We hope you had a lovely summer holiday and are looking forward to an exciting new school year ahead.
On this page, you will find key information about homework, daily routines, class timetables, curriculum updates, and assembly dates, as well as links to helpful learning resources.
Homework & Routines
Homework will be set on a Friday and should be completed by the following Wednesday. Homework will include Spelling Shed, phonics homework, My Maths and daily reading.
Reading at home is very valuable, and we encourage children to read regularly as part of their homework. Around 5/10 minutes each evening is recommended. Thank you.
These are our homework expectations:
- Reading Little Wandle guided reading book daily (5/10 minutes every day).
- Recapping on phonics sounds and tricky words learnt that week.
- Completing the Spelling Shed games.
- Completing MyMaths.
Please ensure that your child brings their book bag and reading record log back into school every day.
Things to remember:
Children should come to school in PE kits on their PE days.
Elm:
Monday is outdoor PE.
Wednesday is indoor PE.
Lime:
Monday is outdoor PE.
Wednesday is indoor PE.
PE kit should include dark tracksuit joggers or shorts, a white T-shirt, and trainers.
