Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome to Year 3! We hope you had a lovely summer holiday and are looking forward to an exciting new school year ahead.
On this page, you will find key information about homework, daily routines, class timetables, curriculum updates, and assembly dates, as well as links to helpful learning resources.

Homework & Routines

Homework will be set on Tuesdays and should be completed by the following Monday. This will include spelling homework on Ed Shed, times tables practice on TT Rockstars and MyMaths worksheets that link with our Maths learning throughout the term. Children should learn spellings and target times tables for a weekly test.

Reading at home is incredibly valuable, and we strongly encourage children to read regularly as part of their homework. Around 20-30 minutes each evening is recommended. However, please do not read the class texts on which their learning journeys are based at home. We will enjoy reading these with the children in school. Thank you for your cooperation with this.

These are our homework expectations:

Reading daily (20-30 minutes every day).
Spellings are to be learnt and will be tested once a week.
Times Table Rockstars at least once a week.
Complete weekly tasks on MyMaths and Spelling Shed.
Please ensure that your child brings their Reading Record into school, with a comment, each day.

Things to remember:

Children should come to school in their PE kits on their PE days.

Chestnut class have their PE on:

Friday is outdoor PE.
Thursday is indoor PE.

PE kit should include a dark tracksuit, joggers or shorts, a white T-shirt, and trainers.

Important Dates:

Chestnut Assembly: Wednesday 25th November
Chestnut Class trip: TBC
