For our Marvellous Middle during the first Summer half term, the children became expert bakers in D&T! We whipped up a batch of delicious oat cookies, using the opportunity to learn exactly where our food comes from and how to make healthy, nutritious choices. It was a fantastic way to see how simple, natural ingredients can make tasty treats. In Geography, the children walked to Whetstone High Road to carry out a traffic survey - they looked for cars, buses, lorries and even emergency vehicles. They also celebrated Sir David Attenborough’s 100th birthday by making birdhouses and bird feeding balls with lard and seeds, learning how to care for wildlife.
