Queenswell Schools consists of an Infant & Nursery School, which includes both 2-year-old and 3-year-old nurseries, a Junior School, including an ARP for Cognition and Learning and Autism provision. The schools are two forms with 436 on roll. Our current Year 2 has only one class due to falling numbers across London. The highly-skilled, established, cohesive team is committed to creating a positive, inclusive environment where every student feels empowered to reach their potential.
Queenswell’s children come from a wide range of cultures, nationalities, and educational starting points. The school has a diverse mixture of socio-economic lifestyles which reflect the children’s learning needs. All our pupils are individuals. Differences are celebrated and used to build a strong school environment. At the heart of everything we do is our ethos: Enjoy, Endeavour, Achieve Together. The culture of joint ownership from all stakeholders creates a happy, inclusive community.
Our Curriculum and Values
The Queenswell Curriculum reflects the multi-cultural aspect of the school while opening the children’s eyes to British culture by exposing them to memorable, fun experiences. Our core values, including Respect, Determination, Humour, Responsibility, Equality, and Compassion, permeate across all subjects and interactions.
All subjects are equally valued and help develop the children’s knowledge of local, national, global, and current events. The curriculum allows children to take risks in a safe environment and builds on key academic and life skills in a progressive way. Through this, children develop the confidence and independent learning skills necessary for their future lives.
We implement our creative curriculum through a balance of visual, auditory, and kinaesthetic activities. To instil excitement and engagement, our topics include A Brilliant Beginning, A Marvellous Middle, and An Excellent Ending. Activities are designed so that teachers facilitate explorative learning while developing the children's growth mindset.
Learning partners are central to collaborative learning; children work in mixed-ability groups where teaching is adapted to ensure that everyone achieves. We use Humour to maintain high engagement, Determination to push through challenges, and Responsibility to ensure children take ownership of their progress.
High-quality books are at the heart of all learning, complemented by IT to enhance the experience. Subject and Cultural Days are a key feature of our curriculum, fostering a deeper knowledge of our community and the wider world.
Success and Inclusion
Queenswell children achieve academic success, becoming confident, independent learners ready for their next stage of education. Progress is celebrated through consistent day-to-day monitoring and end-of-key-stage summative assessments. Our pupils leave Queenswell as compassionate and respectful members of their community who value equality and are determined to succeed.
We strive to ensure our curriculum is accessible to all, meeting the diverse needs of students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), high achievers, and those learning English as an additional language (EAL)
At Queenswell, we provide a rich, challenging environment so that our children can truly Enjoy, Endeavour, and Achieve Together.
