Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome to our new class page! We are looking forward to a fabulous, fun filled remainder of the Autumn term. Below, you will find information about homework and routines, our class timetables, the year group curriculum letter, and our class assembly dates. There are also links to helpful resources and websites.

Homework & Routines

Phonics homework will be set on Friday and should be completed by the following Monday. Homework will be given in sound books.

Your child will have a new reading book weekly. Please read this book with your child every day and comment in the reading diary so we know you have read with them. Reading diaries in year 1 are checked daily, so please ensure your child brings them to school each day. You will be notified if you have not read with your child.

Reading at home is very valuable, and we encourage children to read regularly as part of their homework. Around 10 to 20 minutes each evening is recommended. However, please do not read the class texts on which their learning journeys are based on at home. We will enjoy reading them with the children in school. Thank you.

These are our homework expectations:

Reading Collins book daily (10-20 minutes every day).
Phonics sound book activity to be completed weekly.

Things to remember:

Children should come to school in PE kits on their PE days. Year 1 have their PE on:

Wednesday and Friday

PE kit should include dark tracksuit joggers or shorts, a T-shirt with the colour of your house, and trainers.

University of Greenwich assembly date: 21st of April 2026
University of Greenwich Class trip: Arts Depot - Tiger Came to Tea 5th December 2025
KS1 Production: 2.00pm - 3.00pm 10th December 2025
