Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome back after the winter break! We hope you all had a restful holiday. We are looking forward to a fabulous Spring term, filled with learning. Below, you will find information about homework and routines, our class timetable, the year group curriculum letter and our class assembly dates. There are also links to helpful resources and websites.
Homework & Routines
Homework is set from the SATS Revision books on a rotational basis, as follows: Mondays - English reading and Times Tables, Wednesdays - Maths and Spelling and Vocabulary, Fridays - Arithmetic and English. Online homework on MyMaths and Spelling Shed will be set on Monday and should be completed by the following Monday.
Reading at home is also crucial, and we expect children to read regularly as part of their homework. Around 30 minutes each evening is recommended.
These are our homework expectations:
Please ensure that your child brings their Reading Record into school, with a comment and signed by you each day.
Things to remember:
Children should come to school in their PE kits on their PE days. Year 6 have their PE lessons on Wednesday and must remember to bring their swimming kits with them.
PE kits should include a pair of blue or black joggers or shorts, their house t-shirt and trainers.
Important Dates:
Durham University upcoming trips: Verulamium Museum - Monday, 9th February, 2026
Mock Sats week - 16th-20th March, 2026
We hope the above is useful. If you have any questions or require any help, please contact me via class email year6@northsidesch.org or the class phone.
Thank you for your continued support.
Happy learning!
Kind regards,
Ms Greenhill
