      Dear Parents and Carers,

We are looking forward to a fabulous, fun-filled summer term. Below, you will find information about homework and routines, our class timetables, the year group curriculum letter and our class assembly dates. There are also links to helpful resources and websites.

      Homework & Routines

Homework will be set every Monday and should be completed by the following Monday. Homework will include Spelling Shed, times tables practice on TT Rockstars, MyMaths and daily reading.

Reading at home is very valuable, and we encourage children to read regularly as part of their homework. Around 20 minutes each evening is recommended. It is important to encourage your child to read out loud and to also read out loud to them so that they can learn how to read with expression. Thank you.

      These are our homework expectations:

      • Reading daily and filling out Reading Records (20 minutes every day).
      • Spellings are to be learnt and will be revisited the following Monday.
      • MyMaths homework will be set once per week.
      • Times Table Rockstars at least once a week.

Please ensure that your child brings their Reading Record into school, with a comment, each day.

      Things to remember:

Children should come to school in their PE kits on their PE days. Year 4 have their PE on:

      • Fridays

PE kit should include blue Northside tracksuit bottoms, blue or black shorts, a house-coloured T-shirt, and trainers.

      Important Dates:

      • University of Manchester assembly date: Tuesday 28th April 2026

      • University of Manchester trips:

      • Rameses exhibition at Battersea Power Station: Thursday 7th May 2026

We hope the above is useful. If you have any questions or require any help, please contact me via class email year4@northsidesch.org or the class phone.

Thank you for your continued support.

      Happy learning!

      Kind regards,

      Miss Bennett
